The w126 560SEC can be had with 2.47 ASR, 2.47 LSD, and 2.47 open. The LSD will have clutches. Here is an internal shot of my 2.47 LSD. Notice the clutches on right side of the spider gear in the carrier. Exterior wise, it should have a tag stating "Achtung: Spezial-Ol Sperrdifferential".

Current flows through the pre-resistor to aux fan motor. With the IGN ON, the aux fan should run at low speed. If the motor does not work, and you are getting both power & ground supply at the X (S32/x) connectors and NO power at the X64/5 connector, it would follow that the pre-resistor that vdub mentioned is a likely cause.
